Learning


Netball Australia has an online learning portal for netball.  There is various eLearning on this site.  learning.netball.asn.au/auth/login/

ne of the courses on this site is "Welcome to Select for Netball Success".  This course will take you through the principles and practices of netball selection.  Netball is a team game, however the performance of individual athletes and the combination of athletes in playing positions is critical to the success of the team.

This course is aimed for any netball selector or coach commencing the process of team selection, but anybody is welcome is enrol in the course and learn about the principles and practics that may be used to select netball athletes for a squad or team.

The course looks at:-

* The principles of selection
* Guidelines for individual athlete selection
* Guidelines for netball position selection and what to look for in each position
* How to achieve team balance in selection
* Some practical tips to assist in running a selection session

The Australian Sports Commission offers an online Community Coachin General Principles course.  This course has been developed to assist coaches to learn the basic skills of coaching, particularly those coaches working with children.  The course is currently free of charge to Australian coaches.

The course contains 4 modules, covering a range of general coaching topics including; the role and responsibilities expected of a coach, planning, safety, working with parents, communications, group management and inclusive coaching practices.  It takes approximately 4 hours to complete, and there is assessment included at the end of each module.
